McKean County Controller

Employees:

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Auditing the various accounts of the county assuring compliance and that internal control procedures are in place

2. The Controller serves as the secretary of the salary and retirement boards

3. Stores contracts that are executed by the county (prepared by the County Clerk)

4. Maintains Coroners' views

5. Administers the county's sealed bidding process

6. Responsible for the following functions:
a. General Ledger- revenues recorded, disbursement accounts, transfer accounts - monthly/annual reporting to all department directors and elected officials
b. Accounts Payable - invoice payments for County purchases
c. Payroll- employee payroll, payroll tax obligations, Form W-2 preparation
d. Retirement payroll- employee retirement records, information, benefits
e. Employee Benefits- health and life insurance applications, appropriate payroll deductions and allocations, insurance bills, COBRA benefits, retiree insurance purchases
7. Daily interaction with County Treasurer regarding routine and non-routine financial transactions, account reconciliation and chart of account maintenance
