Duties and Responsibilities: 

McKean County Court of Common Pleas

Family Court:

Litigation: Divorce, Child Support, Custody

1 . Litigation:

a) initial meetings
b) mediation meetings
c) hearings scheduling
d) follow individual cases
e) recommendations
f) complex equitable distribution hearings

2. Child Support Hearings

a) divorce, child support complaints or petitions
b) custody - mediation schedules, refer cases to mediator

To protect the community from further crimes, to ensure accountability for offenses committed and provide offenders with the necessary resources to function as productive, responsible citizens.

Internal Departments:
1. Domestic Relations Office - referrals, order collection
2. McKean County Courts - case management, structural supervision, information sharing
3. Prothonotary Office - record files
4. Juvenile Probation Department - resolution for placement costs
5. Children and Youth Services Agency - resolution for placement costs

External Agencies/Organizations:
1. Attorneys - local and out of area
2. Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) - support collection
3. Municipal law enforcement agencies - execution of warrants and security
4. Local psychologists, psychiatrists, and other experts - appropriate services
