Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties required for maintenance needs for all county building(s) and grounds:
1. Snow removal
2. Lawn care and landscaping
3. Plumbing
4. Heating
5. Minor electrical maintenance
6. Minor telephone line installation and cabling
7. Minor computer wiring
8. Janitorial duties
9. Janitorial and office supply deliveries and associated offices (District Justices, Children and Youth Services, Sheriffs Office and Jail, Probation Department)
10. Transportation of voting machines (delivery and return) 
11. Machinery repair
12. Painting
13. Carpentry and masonry
14. Office furniture and equipment (handling)
15. Mail delivery
16. Ordering of supplies and equipment


Mission Statement:
The McKean County Maintenance Department provides the necessary maintenance services and janitorial needs required for the county progeny, buildings, and grounds to ensure the safe operation of county government, employees, and the public that are served.

Internal Departments:
- Each county government office - janitorial, repair, maintenance

External Agencies/Organizations:
1. Outside vendors for maintenance and janitorial supplies (hardware, electrical, plumbing, heating, equipment pads)
2. Smethport Borough - assistance and various maintenance needs
3. McKean County Historical Society - outside maintenance
4. Office of Human Services - building maintenance and grounds (county-owned building)
