Duties and Responsibilities: 
Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts:
1. Responsible for duties and office procedures associated with the Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Office
2. Supervises the staff and daily operation of the office
3. Serves in court: court oaths, exhibit identification, jury selection, jury trials, juvenile hearings plea day proceedings, sentencing procedures
4. Financial responsibilities - collects money for bail, bad checks restitutions, filing fees
5. Financial responsibilities for the Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Offices

First Deputy:
1. Primarily Clerk of Courts duties - criminal, juvenile matters
2. Dockets transcripts, court orders from District Magistrates (routed to judicial system)
3. Financial responsibilities - collects money for bail, bad checks restitutions, filing fees, bookkeeping - Clerk of Courts
4. Monthly reports to County Treasurer, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC)
5. Assumes duties of Prothonotary (in absence) for court oaths, exhibit identification, jury selection, jury trials, juvenile hearings, plea day proceedings, sentencing procedures

Second Deputy:
1. Responsible for daily office operations; Prothonotary - bookkeeping (daily balances)
2. Dockets civil complaints, divorces, judgments, writs of execution
3. Issuance of passport applications
4. Assumes duties of Prothonotary (in absence)

Clerk:
1. Daily sorting of mail (civil/criminal)
2. Dockets civil orders, assembles cases (civil/ criminal) for courts
3. Bookkeeping duties for civil transactions
4. Responsible for custody recoupment (notices, collection procedures)
5. Responsible for Protection From Abuse (PFA) procedures
Responsible for Domestic Relations Office duties:
1. Complaints for support
2. Orders support hearings
3. Dockets family law reports
4. Files exceptions to family law reports and family law support recommendations
5. Dockets Domestic Relations and family Law orders and sends copies to appropriate sources, fee collection (complaints)
6. Files petitions to modify custody and support 7. passport application procedures

Duties for Clerk of Courts Office:
1. Dockets findings and recommendations
2. Sends copies to appropriate sources
3. Daily sorting of mail and distribution

Mission Statement:
The Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Office offers services related to civil and criminal court proceedings, including fees and collections, jury selection and bail collection; provides public services of passport applications and provides services to court-affiliated offices and law enforcement agencies. The Office strives to provide these services to the government offices, agencies, and the public in a prompt and courteous manner.

12. Tax Claim Bureau - real estate tax sale petitions, tax writs, disbursements for sold property (3 times/year)
13. Treasurer's Office - collected revenues for county (weekly/monthly)
14. Controller's Office - (daily)
15. Commissioner's Office - office supplies

2. Attorneys - local and out of area
3. Pennsylvania Department of Revenue - monthly report of funds collected and disbursed
4. Abstractors - local and out of area
