McKean County Recycling Program - Citizens Recycling Advisory Council
The Citizens Recycling Advisory consists of interested citizens representing a cross section of the community. The Council acts as a steering committee to the development of recycling endeavors throughout the county and provides valuable input as to the needs of the community and the future direction of the overall program .
The Council meets formally on a quarterly basis and an ad hoc basis.
Some of the activities of the Council include:
Public relations/ liaisons between the Recycling Coordinators and the public and private sectors
Advisement on and review of recycling literature and educational needs
Recommendations on improvements to existing programs
Recommendations for development of new recycling programs Development of special events, public challenges and contests
Planning and coordination of community and school programs
Recycling resource development
Recycling markets development
The Advisory Council is a committee with a dead serious mission – which is nothing less than to lay the ground work for responsible stewardship of our environment for generations to come!
