McKean County Elections - First Time Voters
Are You Voting in Your Precinct for the First Time?
If your answer is yes, new Federal and State Laws require voters who are voting in their precinct for the first time to provide election officials with proof of identification.
This identification is required if you are voting at the polls or by absentee.
Valid Photo Identification
Valid Non-Photo Identification (Must Include Name and Address)
If Identification is not provided at the polls you will be required to vote using a “Provisional Ballot” (Paper Ballot) which will not be eligible to be counted until Identification is presented to the County Board of Elections after the election.
Absentee Voters may present Identification with their Application or provide it under separate mailing once their ballot is mailed.
If Identification is not provided to the Local Board of Elections or to the County Board of Elections your ballot will not be counted, per Federal and State Law.
Please address your questions or concerns to your County Election Board at 814-887-3203, elections@pennswoods.net or fax 814-887-2242.
