The Planning Commission is responsible for:

• Preparation of the McKean County Comprehensive Plan
• Administration of County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance in 18 of 22 municipalities
• Review proposed zoning and subdivision and land development amendments
• Preparing & Prioritizing a list of highway/bridge projects for the PennDOT 12-Year Program
• Provide professional planning and technical assistance to local planning commissions/governments, as well as citizens

 The Planning Commission maintains information on:

• FEMA Flood maps & flooding determinations
• Zoning  maps from the 10 zoned municipalities in the County
• County plans such as the Stormwater Management Plan, Solid Waste Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Greenways Plan, Comprehensive Plan
• Topographic Maps
